Mrs. Summerlin is a graduate of Midwestern State University and a proud alumna of Chi Omega Fraternity. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Secondary Education in 2009. She began teaching in Frisco ISD in the fall of 2010 and has worked in FISD for her entire career. This is her second year at Reedy High School and has taught US History, Sociology and American Studies. 

Mrs. Summerlin spent her childhood as a military brat, moving many times throughout her father’s Air Force career. She has visited 15 countries and many states in the US. She loves telling her students about her travels and sharing different perspectives from around the world. She’s even leading a student trip back to Europe during the summer of 2021 for her American Studies students. 

Mrs. Summerlin’s husband teaches and coaches in Frisco ISD and the couple have two sons, nine year old SImon, and three year old Canaan. Her family cheers on her husband’s teams during football and baseball seasons and enjoys travel and quality time together. In her free time she is an avid reader, and lover of podcasts and true crime documentaries.
